Hello and welcome to the MUMPS website!

We are a friendly, rapidly growing society for all medical students interested in paediatrics and child health. If you’re already set on a career working with children or are simply keen to learn more, then we are the society for you! We aim to increase student enthusiasm, knowledge and awareness of paediatrics, along with helping you to develop the skills needed for a successful career in the specialty.

Through our lecture series and annual conference, you can learn about the huge range of job possibilities in the world of paediatrics, both in the UK and further afield, and ask questions to find out how to get your dream job in paediatrics! Our conference will also provide you with the opportunity to learn some hands-on skills that are needed when working with children, and some in depth careers advice so that you can start shaping your applications during your time at university.

For fourth year students taking the Families & Children OSCE we also run events to provide useful support for your revision. Every year both the revision day and mock OSCEs receive excellent feedback, and we are always striving to make these events as helpful as possible for future students.

This year the society is aiming to expand further on the support we can offer students throughout medical school through the following initiatives:

​

• We are working to expand the range of educational videos that are provided on this page - by developing a new video on the neurological examination in children

• We have restarted our membership scheme - and for only £3 you can get a membership which gives you discount to all ticketed events, including the annual conference in Autumn
